Composite Test
This test considers the flexural strength of a composite form by natural stone elements and joint material. It is directly controlling tensile strength between stone element and joint material, and interface bond strength. In this case, the flexural strength characteristic is representing resistance to bending of a bound continuous layer when the wheel of a vehicle moves over the surface of construction.

The flexural strength shall be calculated and tested in accordance with BS EN 12390-5:2000 (Testing Hardened Concrete for Flexural Strength). The unit of flexural strength is in MPa.

Mortar beam Flexural Strength test
This test considers the flexural strength of mortar beams. It is controlling interface bond strength of mortar material. In this case, the flexural strength characteristic is representing resistance to bending of a bound continuous layer when the wheel of a vehicle moves over the surface of construction.

The flexural strength shall be calculated in accordance with BS EN 12372:2006 Determination of flexural strength under concentrated load. The unit of flexural is in MPa.
