The Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) is used to measure the rate of penetration through the various layers of a pavement. The test result can present the shear strength and compaction state of pavement layers. The Dynamic penetration penetrometer test result is generally expressed in term of the DPC penetration index (DPI).
